Brent has been practicing for over thirty years in the civil litigation field. He has represented clients at the trial, appellate and Supreme Court of Canada levels. Brent completed his legal degree at Dalhousie University and a Masters in Political Science at the London School of Economics. Brent is a reoccurring instructor at the New Brunswick bar course and has spoken at many legal education conferences. Outside of the office, Brent enjoys skiing, sailing and spending time with his wife and three children.

Jessica obtained her law degree from the University of New Brunswick. Jessica has spoken at a number of legal education conferences. Jessica is passionate about helping individuals access legal justice and understand the legal system. Outside of the office, Jessica volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Partners for Youth and the First Nations Children’s Futures Fund. Jessica also enjoys swing dancing, skiing, boxing, playing ultimate Frisbee and spending time with her dog, Dalek. And yes, Jessica is in fact Brent’s daughter.

Riley Loughead graduated from UNB Law and was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in June 2024. She is committed to community involvement and is passionate about advocating for community members within the legal system. Throughout her academic career, Riley has earned numerous awards and honours, bringing a strong professional skill set and work ethic to the Melanson Law team. Outside of work, Riley enjoys travelling, volunteer work, drone photography, and supporting local animal welfare initiatives. She can usually be found spending time with her dogs, Sunny and Posie, on the trails of Fredericton.

Michaela graduated from Durham College in Ontario with a Paralegal Diploma. After working in the legal field in Toronto, Michaela moved to New Brunswick. Michaela's favourite part of working in the area of law is helping clients navigate their claims. In her spare time, Michaela enjoys spending time with her partner, friends, family, and two cats, Banjo and Bella. Michaela also enjoys doing resin crafts and crocheting.

Sara received her diploma in Business Administrative Accounting from the New Brunswick Community College of Fredericton. Outside of the office, you can find Sara participating in various outdoor activities, playing volleyball, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.
