FREDERICTON, NB: On May 21, 2024, Melanson Law, an established personal injury law firm that practices in Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John, will be welcoming a new associate to its legal team. Riley Loughead. Riley Loughead is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law, and will be stepping into the role of Associate.
Melanson Law is a well-respected personal injury law firm that has proudly been serving New Brunswick’s communities for more than thirty years. Brent and Jessica Melanson, a father-daughter legal team, are deeply committed to the best interests of their clients and have represented them at the trial and appellate levels of New Brunswick’s court system. Brent has also appeared at the Supreme Court of Canada. The firm’s specialized areas of practice include fatal injuries, negligence claims, disability claims, slip-and-falls, insurance claims, personal injury claims, head injuries, and more.
Riley Loughead is looking forward to expanding her knowledge and experience at Melanson Law, where she will have the opportunity to further refine her professional focus. Riley has received many awards and honours throughout her academic career, and brings a strong professional skill set and work ethic to the Melanson Law team. She looks forward to using these skills to engage with clients, and to help strategically advance their legal files. Riley has a specific interest in supporting clients through the legal process.
Since moving to Fredericton over ten years ago, Riley has actively served her community in volunteering roles through organizations such as Frontier College, ElderDog Canada, Boys & Girls Club of Fredericton, and various youth hunger programs. During her time in law school, Riley took on significant leadership roles, including serving as co-chair of both the graduation and orientation committees, and offering peer mentorship support to fellow law students.
Outside of the office, Riley is passionate about animal welfare and can usually be found spending time with her dogs on the trails on Fredericton. She’s excited to join the team at Melanson Law and to continue serving and advocating for community members in the capacity as a personal injury litigator.
Jessica Melanson also looks forward to working with Riley and believes she will be an incredible asset to the law firm’s expanding team. “Riley brings a unique blend of dedication, ambition, and experience to our firm and we anticipate that our clients will appreciate and benefit from working with her just as much as we expect to,” she said.
